Greenline celebrates landmark covered bowling green completion at Halekulani Bowling Club

A new chapter for Halekulani Bowling Club

Greenline proudly announces the successful completion and official opening of the Halekulani Bowling Club redevelopment, delivered in partnership with Mounties Group. The newly upgraded club on the NSW Central Coast represents a significant investment in enhancing community facilities and providing bowlers with a state-of-the-art playing environment.

Grand opening celebrations

The redeveloped facility was officially opened on Friday, 23rd May, at a celebratory event attended by the Greenline team members responsible for the project delivery and distinguished guests, including Hon. David Harris, Member for Wyong and Minister for Gaming and Racing. The grand opening showcased the club’s impressive upgrades, allowing attendees to experience the extensive improvements firsthand.

Exceptional facilities for year-round play

At the heart of this transformation is Greenline’s innovative all-weather fabric structure, integrated with a high-quality synthetic bowling green. This premium surface is complemented by advanced competition-grade lighting, enabling evening and year-round play, significantly increasing accessibility and enjoyment for bowlers of all skill levels.

The lighting system incorporates powerful uplights strategically placed to reflect light off the roof, creating a diffused, ambient environment that meets the 300-lux average required for competitive bowls.

Additionally, the redevelopment features a dedicated players' lounge, expanded spectator seating, and a contemporary bar designed for both club members and private functions. A feature wall was installed, consisting of glazing and cladding, to provide an acoustic barrier that effectively reduces noise transfer from the club to neighbouring residential properties.

Modern interior fit-out

The bowlers’ shed underwent a significant upgrade to create the new players’ lounge, featuring a modern interior refurbishment of the locker areas, a fully functional bowls office, and a sophisticated new bar area that seamlessly connects with the main clubhouse through integrated beer lines. This refurbishment creates an inviting semi-outdoor space for patrons, enhancing their overall club experience.

A dining space was also incorporated, offering members and guests a comfortable environment to relax and socialise while enjoying views of the bowling action.

Advanced AV and security features

Greenline ensured the integration of advanced audiovisual (AV) and security features as part of the project. A large, high-definition screen measuring approximately 4m x 7m will form a striking feature wall for live scores, event streaming, and club announcements. Comprehensive CCTV coverage was included to enhance safety and security throughout the facility.

Mounties Group’s community commitment

Mounties Group invested over $3 million in this extensive redevelopment. Jason Woods, General Manager Hospitality at Mounties Group, noted, “Mounties Group is proud to announce the opening of the newly developed Bowling Green and covered structure, bringing state-of-the-art facilities for the local Budgewoi community.” Dale Hunt, CEO of Mounties Group, emphasised the importance of this project in demonstrating their ongoing dedication to community excellence.

Project highlights and community impact

Greenline was awarded the project in September 2024, tasked with converting the club’s third green into a fully covered, pennant-grade synthetic green. The existing bowler’s shed underwent significant refurbishment, now transformed into a modern lounge offering prime viewing of the bowling action. These improvements position the club ideally for regional competitions and private events, further enriching community engagement.

Local media, including Club Management and Coast Community News, have highlighted the positive community impact and social connectivity fostered by these upgraded facilities, marking the club as a central hub for community interaction and sporting excellence.
