King’s College is a growing Christian school in Warrnambool that has served the local community for almost 40 years. As student numbers increased, the school identified a need for more functional outdoor recreation and PE spaces that could support multiple year levels and broader community use.
The existing outdoor court area had become increasingly difficult to use. The aging asphalt surface contained numerous holes and had become unsafe for sport and everyday activities, limiting the school’s ability to deliver PE programs and recreational activities throughout the year. The school also recognised the opportunity to create a space that could strengthen community connection and support future growth.
Having seen Greenline projects at other schools, King’s College approached the team to help transform the underutilised court into a safe, flexible and future-focused facility that could accommodate sport, assemblies and events.
Greenline worked closely with King’s College to deliver a large-scale covered multipurpose court facility designed to maximise flexibility. The lightweight structure provides weather protection while maintaining an open, bright and welcoming environment for students and visitors.
The design supports a variety of sports and activities including soccer, tennis and netball, while also creating a flexible gathering space for assemblies, presentations and school functions. A durable white PVC roof membrane was paired with a Surfmist powder-coated structure to create a clean, modern aesthetic that complements the surrounding campus.
Construction was carefully managed to minimise disruption to school operations and deliver a high-quality outcome within the project timeframe.
The new facility has quickly become one of the most heavily used spaces on campus. Students from multiple year levels now share the space for sport, recreation and community service activities, helping strengthen connections across the school.
The courts have also increased the school’s capacity to host inter-school events, with visiting schools commenting on the quality and versatility of the facility. The project has enhanced the school’s profile within Warrnambool and contributed to increased interest from prospective families.
