Vibrant Inspired Learning

Sydney Catholic education leader, Marist Catholic College Penshurst, is committed to delivering learning excellence for over 1000 students from years 7 – 12 across two modern campus locations in South Hurstville and Mortdale. Providing innovative modern classrooms, learning facilities, and student experiences is a hallmark of the quality education offered by Marist.

Every Metre Counts

Marist’s metro campus locations provide easily accessible learning opportunities for surrounding families within the southern Sydney area. However, with minimal options for outward expansion, Marist needed to maximise the usage of every square metre of existing real estate.

As student numbers increased, Marist sought clever solutions to transform existing outdoor areas into flexible learning spaces. Greenline was selected as the perfect partner with extensive outdoor solution experience across schools, Australia-wide.

Marist engaged Greenline to design, deliver, and manage the installation of shade structures and all-weather solutions to align with the needs of both southern Sydney campus locations.

Outdoor Sporting Comfort

Marist’s brand new South Hurstville campus included state-of-the-art multi-sport courts. Greenline worked with the school to design the perfect shade cloth structure to cover the space and deliver year-round comfort for students with complete UV protection.

Serious installation challenges, including cutting deep sections of sandstone to accommodate steel supports and managing difficult site access for machines, were quickly overcome by the Greenline team, allowing for the scheduled project completion.

Reclaiming Learning Space

Two large outdoor areas at Marist’s Penshurst campus were underutilised due to a lack of shade and insufficient protection from the elements. Greenline helped Marist reclaim both areas with custom all-weather PVC structures with integrated support for lighting and communications infrastructure. The new all-weather coverage offered students complete protection outdoors without losing critical natural lighting or communication access.

Protecting Green Perfection

Greenline completed both of Marist’s projects immediately following the installation of high-quality synthetic grass. Safeguarding the expensive new sports surface was a high priority for the project. To ensure that the machines required for installation would not impact the integrity of the newly laid grass, Greenline carefully laid custom surface protection. The surface in both locations remained intact and unharmed from project start to completion.

Strategic Term Completion

Minimising disruption to student learning throughout project delivery was critical for Marist. Strategically positioned fencing and careful project management allowed Greenline to finish the entire Penshurst project during school hours with minimal impact on students whilst ensuring their safety.

These projects allowed Marist to quickly transform uncovered spaces into year-round learning areas for everything from presentations to science lessons. The school were impressed with Greenline’s ability to complete rapid installation during school term with minimal disruption.
